Pieter de Zwart

Lead, Interfaces Team

Pieter grew up in Paris, France and received both his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and his Master's degree in Software Architecture from Santa Clara University in Santa Clara, CA. His Information Systems career began in high school when he taught himself to program in order to build new server administration software for the popular game Half-Life.

While still in college, he founded TheGreekRow, a fraternity and sorority social network and organization system. He then went to work for Cisco Systems, where he began as a graduate intern and was then promoted to manage the rebuilding of its supply chain management. Pieter’s expertise in both business and information systems saved approximately $50 million in long term supply chain cost and risk.

Pieter has served as the founding CTO of Humix Technologies, a music management and automated mixing company and was also the Lead Architect of BoomShuffle, an online playlist creation system. In addition, he was the Director of Engineering for Originator Media, a company focused on bringing anonymity back to social networks.

Prior to joining The Rubicon Project, Pieter served as CTO for a nutraceutical startup focused on bringing health and wellness to the masses by creating individual online stores for fitness and health professionals.
