Matt grew up in Litchfield Park, AZ, a suburb 20 miles west of Phoenix. After finishing his undergraduate work (BS Civil Engineering, May 2005 ) at the University of Arizona, he moved to Southern California and began working as a structural engineer in Laguna Hills. However, in 2007, he decided to put his California dreams on hold for a taste of the other coast, enrolling in the MBA program at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. While pursuing his MBA, he spent a summer working as a corporate banker in NYC before realizing that his passion really lay with start-up tech companies. After completing his Master’s (May 2009) he moved back to Southern California and is happy to be pursuing his career goals at the Rubicon Project.
