Kurt grew up splitting time between Pittsburgh and Louisville…  actually, in towns 45 minutes outside of those cities, but who’s counting.  Hoping to break away from the small town thing, Kurt went to school at GW in Washington, DC.  College included working for lots of different people (including the business school, a non-profit, the federal government, a law firm and himself) as well as belonging to a fraternity (that got kicked off campus after my sophomore year for “stupid” behavior).  Lessons learned?  College is a silly time… but would go back in a heartbeat.

Upon graduating, Kurt moved to New York (without ever having been to the city) and got into online advertising with DoubleClick.  After 5 years of NYC living (liver, body and mind mostly intact), he left with his girlfriend for the west coast.  The tipping point was three months straight of no sunshine and otherwise crap weather.    Kurt started working  for LowerMyBills where he decided it would be a good idea to grow long hair and a beard.  Four years later, the beard and hair are still here along with his wife (Ellie) and three month old son (Haiden).

When he gets free time (of which there isn’t much these days), Kurt loves surfing, running, golf and playing with his kid.
